Kheirollah Khademi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, said there are vast investment opportunities in Iran for developing highways given the Iranian government's willingness to develop highway projects in the country as well as profitability of such projects for investors. 
Addressing a meeting with the senior executives of a stat-run company from China in his office in Tehran, the official expounded on Iran's latest achievements and projects in construction of highways and developing its rail network, voicing the country's keenness to welcome foreign investors in the projects.
"For the time being, there are ample opportunities for investment and partnership of foreign companies in developing infrastructure projects in Iran and the Iranian government has guaranteed issuance of the required permits and warrants in this regard," Khademi said.
He stressed development of highways as a high priority in developing the country's road network, adding, "Currently, we are primarily focused on development and completion of key and international transit corridors by developing the country's highway network and this provides for a great opportunity for investment and partnership of foreign companies in these projects."
Cooperation with Iranian companies would also be a guarantee for foreign companies to work in Iran," he added.
